Part 2: Recommended Framework to Secure the IoT for the Enterprise

We are entering another holiday peak season.  Names and lists in one hand and online shopping bookmarks on the other. Black Friday has passed and even our great local SF Municipal Railway (MUNI) received more than their share of turkey trimmings.  Hackers apparently started on their wish-list by successfully attacking the MUNI system the weekend after Thanksgiving, leading officials to open fare gates and commuters to enjoy a free ride (1).  A fiscal lose in terms of revenues but one can only wonder what other things could’ve happened to the public transportation grid if the threat came from a more powerful nation state.

Given this recent incident, I’d like to talk about the importance of having the Visibility, Control, and Enforcement Framework in securing the IoT for the enterprise.
